RPCS Weekend 2007

The 7th-9th September 2007 almost 90 people between the ages of 1-90 gathered at Lendrick Muir near Kinross in Perthshire for the Scottish Church Weekend. Men and women were there from Airdrie, Stranraer, Wishaw, Motherwell, Holytown, Edinburgh, Inverness, Northern Ireland, Donegal, and London. Once again the Lord blessed us with gorgeous weather, and as folks started arriving Friday evening, everyone, from the oldest to the youngest were very excited. Andrew gave the talks during the weekend on the theme of The Body of Christ taken from 1 Corinthians 12. Verse 26 from that chapter was our memory verse for the weekend: "If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honoured, all rejoice together." After the opening welcome and worship it was time for ice breakers and the beetle drive followed by our traditional late night Chinese take away. The next morning, a bit sleepier for staying up late chatting, we met for worship again followed by group games. In the afternoon a variety of activities were on offer from archery and assault courses to inflatable slides and golf to a shopping expedition. Saturday evening after another time of worship everyone took part in the ceilidh. On the Lord's Day several folks from Airdrie travelled up to join us for worship and lunch followed by an afternoon walk before we headed home. Almost every single person attending the weekend did some job that kept things running smoothly - so much so that to start thanking people, you would merely be listing the names of those who came. From the cooking to the cleaning up, everyone worked together to make this a weekend to remember.
