There are many things to give thanks to God for from this year’s Airdrie GO Team. He blessed us with safety in travel as team members journeyed from and returned to far-flung places like Galway and Donegal. The sleet of previous years was replaced by a heat wave that sent Robert McCaughan searching for sun cream. Most importantly the weather helped with the distribution of the 15,000 invites to the Mission week. The participation in this work by many Airdrie members aided and encouraged us greatly. We also really enjoyed getting to know the young people associated with the congregation. God is to be thanked for the team devotions, prayer meetings, and worship on the Sabbath that provided spiritual refreshment as well as the exciting experience of attending the largest service ever held in Rosie’s flat. Those of us who had been on previous teams gave praise for the spiritual growth amongst our friends in the congregation and the many new faces we had the opportunity to meet. The whole team is thankful to God for the time and effort that the congregation made in supporting the work: George’s precise organisation of literature distribution and Jimmy’s Covenanter Tour were greatly appreciated as well as the efforts and prayers of the whole church family. Nothing that the team or anyone did earns God’s blessing on the Mission week rather we were constantly reminded of His mercies throughout our time in Airdrie, and it is to His mercy we appeal as we ask that God would continue to glorify His Name through the RP Church of Scotland.
