METs

The METs (Mutual Encouragement Times based on Romans ch1v12) are a simple and effective way of encouraging each other to read and study God's Word. We meet together in small groups in homes for an hour each week to discuss a pre-determined portion of the Bible, and we have found that our lives change as we read God’s Word.

“Through the MET’s I have come to appreciate more and more the strength, the direction, and the comfort to be gained from the regular study of God's word and how much these rewards can be re-inforced by reading and studying with others. Passages which had seemed difficult are often made clearer by the insight of someone else in the group, and the discussions we are all eager to take part in can be very instructive. I do enjoy our Wednesday mornings!”

“The METs have had a big impact on my Christian life. I now think more about putting God first in everything I say and do and also about reading my Bible and developing my prayer time. It has also increased my confidence about speaking to others about our Lord Jesus Christ and their need for a Saviour. I also get encouraged by the other members in our MET group as we all share similar experiences in our walk with the Lord.”

“I have found the MET a real help in the study of God's Word. As points are made by others in the group, I find that this challenges me to think on what has been discussed. I also find that the METs are very good in disciplining oneself to read and study what God has to say in His Word to us personally and as a church on a weekly basis.”
