The last Friday in May each year, the Minister’s wives from the RP Churches in Scotland and Ireland have an annual get together. This is, in turn, organised by one of the four Presbyteries so the format varies from year to year. This year was the turn of the Eastern Presbytery, and we met at 12:30 for lunch at the Dunsilly Hotel, Antrim, not far from the airport.
There were 31 ladies in attendance, including our speaker, Miss Brenda Kelso. Following our buffet style lunch, we had a brief time of worship before Brenda gave us a talk on counselling based on the Psalms. Afterwards there was the photo call and then we had about an hour free when most of us headed to the Castle grounds for a walk and catch up. The weather was beautiful and we give thanks for the opportunity to fellowship with others who are living and working under similar circumstances. Then it was back to the hotel with some time to browse the bookstall as a light tea was served before departure.
It was good to catch up with some of the ladies, including my sister, Jennifer, but we also remembered those who were too ill or elderly to attend as they had done in previous years.
